Hi there,
This is my last message to you of 2024! I want to share with you the five most important lessons I learned this year — and it came from my own personal experience, time spent with coaching clients, research for my book, and the Love Weekly comments section.
I’m so grateful for the Love Weekly community — your support means the world to me.
Let’s get into it.
1. Sometimes, the work we do on ourselves is really about learning to let ourselves be happy.
For so many of us, our biggest task is to learn to let go. To have fun. To give ourselves permission to do more of the things that make us feel truly alive. Fun is not frivolous. Neither is passion or joy. These things are what make us feel whole. So in any effort to grow and evolve, remember that much of the goal is to simply let yourself be happy.
2. The things that are worth fighting for are going to throw off the balance.
I hear a tremendous amount of wishing for a “balanced” life — I’ve wished for it, too. But I’ve really come to understand that the things that give life meaning often create some imbalance. In other words: The most worthwhile pursuits might be disruptive to your routines.
But life is not about striking the perfect balance — and your work is to determine what is worth creating a bit of disruption. If something absolutely lights you up — or even just feels good in your nervous system — it’s worth a little imbalance in favor of fulfillment.
